You’ve probably seen the picture – a long tunnel made of overarching, intertwined trees, carpeted with lush green foliage, looking for all the world like something out of a fairytale. For the first couple of years of this picture appearing intermittently on Facebook, Pinterest and the like, there was little information available. Nobody seemed to know where – or what – it was. Everybody agreed though that it was magical, beautiful, romantic.
Now though, the secret’s out. Turns out it’s actually part of a private railway in Ukraine that runs three times a day to a factory near the town of Klevan. Which kind of ruins the romance of it a little doesn’t it?
Until, that is, you find out that the locals call it the Tunnel of Love, and that it’s a favourite place for young lovers to walk in romantic seclusion. Not only that, but it’s said to hold a magical power too: couples who make a wish here and whose love is sincere, will find that their wish comes true. How’s that for a fairytale ending to a railway romance?

Welcome to Railway Weddings!
If you’re looking for a unique wedding theme, the romance of the rails couldn’t be more perfect. The golden age of travel was a glamorous and elegant time, giving you plenty of options to explore when it comes to venue, bridalwear, hair and make-up, design and decoration.
A train theme also lends itself perfectly to a quirky and unusual wedding. You can go for rock ‘n’ roll retro or vintage va-va voom to create a look that will make your special day one that everyone will remember.
There are all kinds of ways you can incorporate trains and railways into your wedding day. From transporting your guests from the ceremony to the reception on a chartered luxury train or vintage steam train, using a train station or rail museum as the venue, or actually getting married or blessed on the train itself, the vintage wedding railway theme is a flexible one.
On this site, we’re going to gather together all the information and inspiration you need to plan your own railway wedding. We’ll list all the UK railway wedding venues, give you ideas for train-themed honeymoons, including luxury train travel and railway-themed accommodation, and tell you where to go to find the best vintage and retro wedding suppliers, including design and decorations, photographers, hair and beauty, entertainers and music.
